Field and Building Usage Requests
All groups and organizations wishing to the below locations are are required to submit the Field Use Request form to:
Please note submitting a Field Use Request does not guarantee approved usage.
• If there is a scheduling conflict, you will be notified by the Recreation Director.
• If the field is available, the Recreation Department will acquire any other required signatures (ex. DPW) and return the completed and approved form to you.
Q: "I thought the fields were public. Why can't my group just go out and use Memorial Field?"
A: The fields are available for use UNLESS another group has scheduled the field. In order to maintain a calendar of field usage and avoid scheduling conflicts, all requests are required to go through the Recreation Office.
A. For safety reasons, please refrain from flying remote control planes over occupied fields.
Q: How does the Recreation Office determine who can use the field?
- Field usage is determined on a first-come-first serve basis. Please submit your Field Use Request form as early as possible.
- Typically, Rutland Little League is authorized to use all but one of the fields (reserved for RYS Spring Soccer), and in the Fall Rutland Youth Soccer (RYS) uses the fields. These organizations have received permission to use the fields for their respective seasons.
Q: My group wants to use a school field. Can I just ask the school?
A: Although the fields are located at the schools, they are operated by the town, and usage is organized by the Recreation Department. A field request form must be filled out and submitted to Rutland Recreation.
Q: All the fields are booked! How can I host an event?
A: Please submit a Field Usage form and the Recreation Department will work with other organizations to resolve schedule conflicts and suggest an alternative location.
Please note: Rutland Little League cannot cancel scheduled games.
